Program Secretary

Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties. Under the direct supervision of the Program Director. This position may require you to prepare reports and spreadsheets which capture financial and statistical information such as: material costs, and projected costs for budget development purposes. Reconcile cost reports and purchase order logs as needed. Develop agendas, memoranda, reports, charts and other administrative documents in support of program and agency operations. Schedule meetings for BBYCA Staff, prepare agendas, transcribe and distribute minutes, update website and social media platforms as needed. Prepare power point presentations and maintain records and files. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Nurse

A Registered Nurse, Battle Born Youth Challenge Academy (BBYCA), within the Office of the Military, Nevada Army National Guard, provides general professional nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act in a 24/7 voluntary residential facility for 16 to 18-year-olds in a quasi-military environment. Coordinate health services and treatment; collaborate with staff to ensure optimum care; carry out procedures which provide for the emotional and physical comfort of cadets; identify cadet’s health care needs utilizing professional nursing assessment skills; make comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations of health needs including subtle abnormalities and changes in condition; record and report indicative signs and symptoms of physical and mental condition.

Cadre Team Leader

Eight (8) open and available positions

Cadre Team Leaders, within the Office of the Military, Nevada Army National Guard, educate, train and mentor at-risk 16 to 18-year-old youth in a 24-hour/7-days-a-week setting who have not completed high school, are high school credit deficient, and demonstrate a desire to improve their potential for success and lead productive lives. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

Case Manager

2 Open and Available Positions

Primary responsibilities are to maintain and report placement information for 20-60 Cadets in the Post-Residential phase, provide case management services to Cadets, their families, and their mentors, and facilitate Character Development and life skills classes for Cadets in the Residential phase of the program.

Admissions Specialists

Two (2) open and available positions in Northern Nevada

Report to the Lead Admissions Specialist, responsible for outreach in Northern Nevada, Western Nevada, and Rural Nevada.
